I think 🤔 Chloe, died and you save Arcadia because if she didn't die you would see update photos of the girls in Los Angeles like they were going or at a art gallery, whatever. Why a photo only in Arcadia, that's kinda strange, my opinion.

I think it makes sense, considering that Chloe never liked having choices made for her, and max choosing to save her instead of the bay probably made her feel trapped in the relationship.

Something I’ve been thinking about is how much more successful life is strange 2 wouldve been if it was more closely connected to the first. The show infinity train is also a anthology with a very similar premise to life is strange with each season focusing on a new set of characters. The difference is, the characters are already pre-established from previous seasons. For example, a backgrounder from season 1 may become the main character in season 2 and the antagonist of season 2 may become the protagonist of season 3. This worked for the audience better because they were more comfortably eased in to having other protagonists by starting with familiar faces before expanding to newer characters. Like, if Sean was more so based on a backgrounder from the first game with life is strange 2 having the same plot and premise and just a closer approximation to the first entry. Kinda like how they did Steph but just more calculated and purposeful.

Here's how I would handle Chloe if I were the director and I wanted to write Chloe out of this story: For those who chose to sacrifice the town and save Chloe, I'd have Max relive a flashback scene in game where she and Chloe get in a major argument. Chloe would ultimately leave Max because she didn't want to be reminded that her life cost the lives of so many others every time she looked at Max. It would be a very dramatic and emotional scene, but it would be satisfying to the original fans. For those who chose to sacrifice Chloe and save the town, I'd have Max relive a flashback scene in game where Max and Chloe enjoyed each other's company, perhaps even in an intimate way. Max would shed a tear at the loss of her most cherished friend. In BOTH cases, I would show Chloe and Max interacting. The alternative would be to just have a passing comment discarding Chloe as a character. This wouldn't be as fulfilling to fans of the original game. It would feel cheap and disrespectful.

I feel like saving Chloe was always a “we’re ending the story so let’s let them be happy if they want to” ending. It really hurts their ability to make a sequel unless that sequel has max exploring both possibilities. I think either the two timelines will do that or it will just be a “Chloe is dead” v “Chloe is in another city” scenario. You have to remember the relationship was never canon anyway, they were friends for all of us but the romance was a choice made by the player. I always played Max as if she were straight. There’s so many different choices in LIS that a sequel simply can’t take every single one into account and I think it’s probably just going to avoid going into detail of most of them and lean into the new adventure more.

It's not what I want, and it goes contrary to what the actual creators wanted for this franchise. It's like professional fan fiction. Don't get me wrong though. I'm still looking forward to playing it. I actually liked True Colors despite its problems. I just think this choice was a mistake. If they are going to be the inheritors of the Life is Strange property, they should stick to original content in that world.

heres the thing, romance is a big theme in LiS games. True colors had two love interests with one leading towards the other. I just struggle to see how could they achieve this if Chloe is alive and your still with her.

You know what… if Chloe is alive and are broken up - good for Max. Their relationship was toxic.

It seems like eveeyone has that feeling about high school relactionship after high school - they are "just" high school love interest. But it seems like devs and community still make it shallow - adults tent to make their relactionships based on family - creating room, having an actual job, having kids. Max is still a child, picking and choosing love interest, having a crush or just flirting - not flirting is for us, to convince us that she is still remeber about high school crush/girlfriend? Is she dead? Or is just a way how lesbians does (at least in a game?)

I have one thing to say that you missed... "That guy is bad to the gnome" lol. No truthfully now what I wanted to say is that the first thing that set my expectations with this game was in the bar after the drinking game with Steph. After beating Steph at the drinking game and seeing that Steph posted about it on My Block I thought ahhhh how cool, what happens if I beat Gabes score on the video games, surely Gabe will comment on My Block... Over 40 minutes of mini game later I beat his score and... nothing. But when this really threw me for a loop was seeing how competitive he was with Steph after the wake, seeing that competitiveness brought back that dissapointment. It really felt to me to be a missed moment that in a real world situation would have happened. Tru Colors to me always feels like a great swing of the bat... only to fall a few meters short of the ball. Watching this now as we gear up for their next release I can only hope they have don better this time around. And to really end this well, yes "He won a gnomebell peace prize" lol

Couldn't it be she's dead in the reality you start in and alive in the reality Max rips into? It would be a huge mistake to diss Chloe like that. I don't know why they refused to go back to them in the first place. Maybe I'm biased as someone with adhd: when you find a dopamine hit, you go back again and again and again lmao.

If you think bringing Max back is a bad idea by itself you can always go to fanfiction and make it your own headcanon ig. Saying its cashgrab simply beacuse of it is crazy, we don't know how good or bad that game is yet. Calling early access predatory practices is just WOW after I avoided so many spoilers to movies and other games, just make an effort to unfollow everything and its fairly easy.

I hope they don't do to Chloe what they did to April Ryan in the Longest Journey Series :(

I'm just so attached to Max's original look. It had an art style all its own. But we've seen what adults look like in these games, so even for her being older, this looks... off. Like an A.I. approximation of what grown up max could look like.

I feel like chloe probably died because throughout the first game she died over and over again cause the timeline and fate kept trying to fix itself, so even if you chose to save Chloe youre just buying yourself more time. (But thats just my theory)

I feel like since max can shift inbethween timelines chloe will appear in alternative timeline

The developers did say that they respect both choices. They said the bae or bay decision was not canon. My theory was the timeline where Safi asked Max was the timeline where Chloe was sacrificed, and when Max stepped into an alternate universe, Chloe was still alive and well.

For me I like the Blood Brothers ending better because no matter wat they didn’t wanna be separated that was the point in the first place to be safe from the trouble and be together in parting ways Sean is safe from trouble but would never been able to come to the U.S again he only wanted to go to Mexico to avoid the law also there’s no reason to put a tracker on Daniel cuz even if he does go to Mexico they can’t grab Sean back unless he comes back to the U.S cuz Mexico doesn’t extradite people that’s the whole point of him being there so wat if they know exactly where he is in Mexico Sean’s smart enough not to come back I do believe Sean would be happy in Mexico tho as well as Daniel

It seems to be very emotional and I get that, but remember: It is just a game. Life is Strange was more than that for many, including me, but that does not mean new entries can in some way taint that experience. If the new game is shit, it will hurt. But in the end there is no loss. We still have Life is Strange, Before the Storm, LiS 2 and True Colors. And I personally think all of them are exceptional. I hated on BtS back then before I had even played it and I now see the same attitude for Double Exposure. Just get off their cracks and let them cook, because until now they have not disappointed anyone. In the gaming industry it is important to award good work with some level of trust. Lets talk about the criticism for a moment. I personally think the Editions are reasonable. 50 bucks for a polished game is fair, the Outfits are just gimmicks and getting the game early is not that of a big deal. I do know that many people spend alot of time on social media and that some people are dumb and share major plot points. But you have this problem with any game that you do not play on release. No clue how much money you guys have, but I am used to the struggle. 2 Weeks are nothing compared to when I waited 4 months to play Baldurs Gate III. And to say the spoiler chance is calculated, that is a stretch. The Collectors Edition without a game is a neat idea in my mind. A vinyl is normally pricey, a limited vinyl, too. And 50 bucks is fair for the content. Normally you would have to pay at least 100 bucks for something like this (game included), so the math adds up. I have seen way worse and I am actually thinking about getting it. Having a vinyl of anything in the LiS Franchise is a pretty secure buy. The only criticism I really agree with, is that you should not reward a toxic workspace. BUT the people still worked hard on it. And not buying the game is at the same time hurting the developers. A company with bad work ethics would take bad sells as reason to let people go. It would be more important to stand by their side, be loud, demanding change. And if nothing happens, that is the point where I would decide to maybe opt out. All in all I am still happy about the return. I am hopeful, but would not pre-order it. Maybe I buy the collectors edition, because I am sure that the music will be good anyways. And if the game turns out shit, we can be angry for a day and turn back to Dontnod for their future projects.

Tbh I consider life is strange to be a game with replay value because despite getting to "see all outcomes" the results of what outcome you chose can change a future choice, butterfly effect baby

I always love finding a new group of videos and instantly seeing amazing games in their channel. Beautiful videos 🥺🥺 I supported Long dark when they first went early access with just the one map, it's such a vibe game I always come back to when nothing else is going on.

My theory for Chloe's absence for bae ending Max and Chloe ended up living with David But being around him Joyce is mentioned alot. Max is continuously haunted with the guilt of sacrificing Arcadia Bay and killing Joyce. While Living with David Max's Guilt got worse which pushed her into making the decision to apply for college to focus her mind on her passion for photography and distance herself from her past Trauma Max had to make the tough decision to distance herself from all connections to Joyce and Arcadia bay which included Chloe herself. Max was accepted into college and set out alone in the hopes of Pursuing her passion professionally and somehow during college to come to terms with her past Trauma and hopefully return home to Chloe after graduation.

If anyone has read the comics, it isn’t too far fetched for Chloe to be both alive and dead especially when Max seems to be developing the same kind of power from the comics in Double Exposure. I know the comics aren’t considered cannon but, if they have implemented the same power, it wouldn’t be impossible for DeckNine to find a way to implement both endings using the comics as inspiration

I hate how they don’t have the rights to lis especially because i liked the idea of every game having a different story to tell so the possibility that they’re forever gonna play it safe by making a multiple continuations of the first lis which isn’t that interesting to me because i liked the first one but loved the second them completely doing it for fan service scares me because of the fact that now there are 4 different lis games about the same cast that already wasn’t my biggest things makes my interest dull don’t get me wrong the first lis game is what got me interested in the franchise but the games that had different cast is what kept me hooked

Good and balanced take. I’m open to the idea of them breaking up but still being a big part of each other’s lives. Max and Chloe clearly have a deep connection, but realistically they’d have issues being around each other all the time. Maybe, in the Bae timeline, Max and Chloe are taking a break and, instead of romancing a new character, Max choose to go on an arc to rekindle with Chloe? I’d be happy to see that.

Didnt care for chloe at all so I'm good either way i only liked her in the spin off, but i do hppe they dont invalidate no ones choice as itll make the first few games replayability factor shoot way down
